It’s been such a busy month, and I wasn’t sure if we would have the time to find a ring for Lindsey. She likes to look at the same prospective item like fifty times, despite how much she loved it the first ten times. Today, we went to find an antique store that sells estate jewelry. Instead, we found an old jewelry store and a gay sales man. He said he’s been with his partner for 18 years, and he showed us some really beautiful rings. We both knew the first one was the right one. After an hour of comparing rings and taking pictures, I bought her the first one. It’s unique, but it’s still classic. It’s also well priced. But, then the sales guy showed us the first ring with a VERY expensive wedding band, and I knew I was kind of screwed at that point. I just couldn’t justify buying one without the other. It was a tough choice, but here’s the engagement ring with the wedding band:
Sorry, the photo is really blurry. I was shaking a little once I learned the total amount. I will say, finally buying the rings made it feel real. We bought my wedding band, too.
Two weeks ago, we went to the beach with Lindsey’s mom, sister-in-law, and nephew. We met up with my parents, and Lindsey’s family stayed at their house on Friday night, while we stayed at the bed and breakfast. On Saturday, we went to meet the cake people and florist. On, Sunday, we met the caterer and chose our menu for the wedding. On Saturday night, Lindsey’s mom stayed at the B&B with us. It’s a beautiful place.
Sunday, I was able to play golf with my dad, which was pretty awesome. I don’t get to spend a lot of time with him, just the two of us. The ladies went to get their nails done, while dad taught me how to swing a golf club. It was a little embarrassing at first, but he’s a good teacher. The last ball I hit went 150 yards. I was OK with that. We have a golf “tournament” coming up at work. Some of the guys do an annual “Gregor Open” and they invited me to play this year. I was really excited about it, so I figured I should learn the right way to hold the golf club and spend some time practicing before we have to tee off. Anyway, I’m excited for this wedding, and I’m so lucky to have such a wonderful family.
I wanted to share some of the pictures we took over the weekend.

You’re keeping your head down….on the golf swing…which is good form…I think…

Thanks, Cody. Dad said not to lift my head up to watch the ball. So, he wouldn’t let me look up. He told me where it went, at least, when I actually got it off he ground:)
